Pandemic Body Exhibitions

Selected Works

In the post-pandemic world, Fan’s  paintings of Australia’s iconic landscapes combined with bodies to reflect upon the peculiar state of our existence: overwhelmed by its hostile environment, the body is suspended, floating, fragmented, perplexed and isolated, as if we have lost control, purpose, briefs and identities, which we need to regain in order to help future generations survive. Since the Covid19 pandemic, Chinese-Australian artist / painter Fan Dongwang’s Pandemic Body project has been showing in a solo exhibition at the Macquarie University Art Gallery, as well as many group exhibitions such as Blake Prize 2020 at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, 2021 Art In The Time Of COVID19 Exhibition at Nillumbik Shire Council, The Hero’s Journey Poster Art Prize 2020 at Australian National University, Burwood Art Prize 2020 and Blacktown City Art Prize 2020.
